Monica Enox

Funeral services for Monica Enox will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 28, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, 900 S. Main, in Roswell, New Mexico. Visitation will be Thursday, January 27 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the La Grone chapel. Interment will be in Hobbs following the Memorial Service in Roswell.

Monica, the first child of Lonna and Garry Enox, was born on July 9, 1975, at Llano Estacado Medical Center in Hobbs, NM. She arrived with a head full of brown curly hair, and soon lit up every room with smiles and chatter. The first girl in the family, she was given the same middle name, Rylda, as her maternal grandmother and great grandmother. She hummed, then sang before her first birthday. Monica started school in Hobbs, New Mexico. She began piano lessons and tap dance lessons at 8 years old.

The family then moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico, where Monica was active in her church, Brownies and Girl Scouts, played the trombone in the school band, and performed as a twirler for school events. Graduating high school in Tucumcari in 1993, Monica received a music scholarship at Oklahoma Baptist University. Her last years, she transferred to Eastern College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Psychology. Monica began her career in Social Work as a Case Manager for developmentally disabled in Roswell, NM. At the time of her death, January 22, 2022, following complications from Covid, she was employed at La Casa as a Behavioral Therapist for children. It was a job she had loved more than any other.

Ms. Enox is survived by her mother, Lonna Enox-Tucker, her stepfather, Ron Tucker, her brother, Nathan Enox, her nephew, Drake, all of Roswell. Her niece Marissa Hrisco, a reading teacher in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Enox also leaves a variety of cats and dogs for her family.
