Monta Green

GREEN, LOIS Our beloved Lois, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 15, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at South Park Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Jack Ferguson will officiate.
Lois was born on March 12, 1933 in Lamar, Oklahoma to William and Augusteen Cates of Roswell. Her father has preceded her in death as well as a brother, Cecil Curtis Cates.
Lois married Alpha James Green on April 26, 1951 in Sayre, Oklahoma. They shared 60 joyful years together and he survives her at the family home.
Lois was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was devoted to her husband and family and was always there to share a hug, a laugh or a tear. She loved all the Holidays and saw each one as an opportunity to bring her family together for fun, food and love. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by three sons: Larry Mitchell Green and wife Cheryl of Artesia, Garry Michael Green and wife Patty of Artesia and Gilbert Dale Green and wife Melodie of Roswell. She is also survived by her mother, Augusteen Cates of Roswell brothers: Albert Lee Cates and his wife Irene of Charles Town, WV: Julian Ray Cates and his wife Sarah of San Tan Valley, AZ and sister Ruby Evelyn Hendrix and her husband Bill of Roswell five grandchildren: Keegan Green and his girlfriend Jenifer Weber of Roswell Keeden Green and his girlfriend Sarah Aguirre of Artesia and Robyn Green and his wife Kim of Artesia, Tristen Green and Anna Lisa Green of Roswell six great grandchildren: Karson Green, Kade Green, Makenzie Green, Autumn Hanson, Alison Green and Phoebe Green.
