Myrtle Skipper

SKIPPER, MYRTLE -- Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, for Myrtle Skipper, age 80, of Roswell, who passed away October 4, 2006 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Rev. Marshall Fair of Clovis, New Mexico will conduct the service. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8AM until 7PM, on Monday, October 9th at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

Myrtle was born in Dexter, NM on February 28, 1926 to Isaac Pete Sparks and Ida Mae Johnson Sparks. They preceded her in death.

She married William C. Skipper, Jr. on July 22, 1943 in Roswell. He survives her at the family home.

Survivors include 2 sons; Gary Skipper, Sr. and his wife Sandy of Roswell, and Glenn Skipper and his fiance companion Patti of Arizona. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Patsy Felber and her husband Tommy of Roswell, Kay Hardcastle and husband Argie of Manteca, California, and Becky Price and her husband Jud of Roswell, along with 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters; Frances Busby of Roswell, and Fern Norris of Grass Valley, California.

Her husband and children were the light of her life. Myrtle was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and a true friend to all that knew her.

She was of the Baptist faith, and was an active member and Past President of the B.P.O.E. Does. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing ceramics, loved to travel, and loved gardening and growing all kinds of flowers.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons: William Skipper, Dwayne Skipper, Greg Smith, Todd Hardcastle, Troy Hardcastle and Travis Price. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Kelley, Chris Green, David Janssen, Shawn Bethany and Gary McCracken.

Friends may make memorials to the Elks Cerebral Palsey Fund, Elks Lodge 969, 1720 N. Montana, Roswell, NM 88201.

Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
