A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the La Grone Funeral Chapel honoring the life of Nellie Christine Lombardi, age 84, of Roswell. BR She passed away in peace on May 25, 2007, at her home. The Reverend James Kummerle of St Marks Evangelical BRLutheran BRChurch will preside over the service.

Nellie was born July 12, 1922, in Vasa, Minnesota , to Alfred and Louise Flom Brodd. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alton and Allen Brodd; one sister, Ruth Marie Brodd; and her beloved son, Gene Robert Lombardi.

Nellie married her true love, Felix Anthony Lombardi, on December 23, 1942, in New Port, Rhode Island . He survives her at the family home. She and Felix would have celebrated 65 years together in December of this year. They enjoyed a wonderful, devoted life together, committed to all lifes challenges, adventures and joys. Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon Louise Lombardi of Roswell ; a son, Felix Allen Lombardi and his wife, Susan, of San Francisco, BRCA ; four brothers, Robert, Willis, Gene and Alfred Brodd; and two sisters, Arleen Lindberg and Jeanette Bruggemann; and several nieces and nephews. Nellie was a devoted wife, mother and friend, who nurtured her family and friends near and far and was cherished by all she touched with her love and concern. BR Her caring nature was exemplified in her 24-year career as an assistant to Dr. Louis Kramer in BRNiagara Falls, New York , where she helped care for his many patients.

She was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran BRChurch . BR Prior to moving to BRRoswell , was active in the Womens Club at Bayside Estates, Ft. Myers, BRFL , for many years where she helped raise money for the charities supported by the club.

In lieu of flowers, Nellies wish was that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor or in honor of her beloved son, Gene Lombardi.
