Norah Edith Brendle Isaacs was born on a farm near Stratford, Oklahoma July 3, 1919 to Charley Henry and Eddith Elizabeth Brendle. She attended grade school at Summers Chapel and Vanoss High School in Oklahoma. On April 12, 1940 she married Sterling Price Isaacs and on May 12, 1940 they came to Artesia, New Mexico where they made their home. She worked in Artesia at a laundry while Sterling served in the Army during WWII. In November 1965 they were transferred to Albuquerque, NM and then moved to Roswell, NM in 1969 where they lived for 37 years until Sterling passed away, March 25, 2007. Later Norah moved to Carlsbad, NM with her daughter Judy and husband J.R. Jennings. She is a member of Calvary Baptist church since 1970 and a member of Lodge 006 ‘Woodmen of the World' fraternal organization Roswell, NM. She served many years as secretary for Lodge 006. She was the 6th of eleven children 6 boys, and 5 girls.
Norah is survived by two sons, Larry Keith Isaacs and wife Marsha of San Antonio, Texas, Dickie Lynn Isaacs and wife Sharron of El Campo, Texas, and daughter Judith Norene and husband J.R. Jennings, of Carlsbad, NM, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and her sister Barbara E. Worley of Roswell, NM.
Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, sewing, quilting, crocheting and scrapbooks. She taught Sunday school class in Artesia and Roswell. Honorary Pallbearers are nieces and nephews.
