RAY, O.C.- When God called roll on March 5, 2018, a new name appeared on the roster, O.C. Ray, two days before his 91st birthday.
A memorial service will be held for O.C. at Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11a.m.
O.C. was born March 7, 1927, In Eudora, Arkansas to Oda and Lula May Ray. His family farmed in that area until the Mississippi River flooded. They then traveled to and farmed the Southwest. Unfortunately, O.C. lost his father tie following year.
At an early age, he learned to work hard. He continued that practice all of his life, still working until his late eighties. He was such a God loving man and took his roll as a Deacon very seriously. He loved his church, Bethel Baptist, and all his church family.
O.C. married Rosene Cornelius on March 7, 1944. They had three children. He was also stationed in Germany serving our country during WWII. He was a truck driver most of his life, but was the maintenance supervisor for Spanish Gates in his later years. He lost Rosene in 1977. In 1993, O.C. married Margie Jones. They were married until Margie's passing in 2015.
O.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Rosene, Margie, and grandson, Levi Archuleta, brother, Wilbur (Claudine) Ray. Sisters, Mary, Claudia and brother-in-law, Charles Hendricks.
Surviving O.C. are his three children. O'Dean (Sheila) Ray of Shreve-port LA., Mike (Myra) Ray and Cindy (Leroy) Archuleta, Randall (Brenda) Jones, all of Roswell. He's also survived by his nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and by one sister, Ruby Hendricks as well.
If anyone deserves a ticket to the other side, it's that sweet ole man! We Love you Daddy.
