Onita Pearl Harrison

Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25th at Berrendo Baptist Church for Onita Pearl Harrison, age 87 of Roswell, who passed away March 22, 2011. Pastor Troy Grant of Berrendo Baptist Church will officiate.

Onita was born August 18, 1923 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Wilson and Tiller Gray. Her parents have preceded her in death, as well as brothers, Ernest Ruth and Wayne Gray, and a sister, Marie Horn.

Onita married Leonard Harrison on May 15, 1941 in Roswell, NM. They lived and farmed while raising their family in East Grand Plains. He also has preceded her in death.

She is survived by: two sons, Danny Harrison and his wife Rhonda of Grants, NM and Carl Harrison and his wife Dorothy of Roswell, NM two daughters, Doris Moreno and her husband Leroy of Midland, TX and Janet Andrade and her husband Andy of Portales, NM. Other survivors include her sister Louise Lucas of Aztec, NM 16 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, and 1 greatgreat grandchild, and beloved exdaughterinlaw Nancy Williams and her husband Fred of Roswell, NM.

Onita was a housewife, loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and greatgreatgrandmother. She was an active member of Berrendo Baptist Church. Onita is in peace with her husband and will be missed by all family and many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Margaret Denton and Dr. Hamid Feroze for their care and compassion, and her church family at Berrendo Baptist Church for their thoughts, love and prayers.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
