Patricia "Pat" Leota Hubbard Carlton, age 84, originally of Roswell and later Artesia, NM went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 1, 2024. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. November 11, 2024, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. November 12, 2024, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel; burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Terri McKean of Lakeview Christian Home, Carlsbad, NM. Pat was born to Charles Hubbard and Minnie Effie Tuley Hubbard on March 7,1940 in Roswell, New Mexico. She married the love of her life Bobby “Bob” Lee Carlton on November 16, 1956, in Roswell, New Mexico. She attended Roswell High School. She and her husband Bob shared a strong belief in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and imparted their belief to their five children. She was a woman of sincere faith, deeply loving family and sharing many genuine friendships, as well as a woman of gentle and kind nature. She loved playing all sorts of games like 42, canasta, wahoo and ping pong, especially with her family, and had a warm sense of humor. Pat was a member of the First Baptist Church in Roswell prior to moving to Artesia, NM to be near her daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Jerry Smith. She spent her final year as a resident of Lakeview Christian Home in Carlsbad, NM, where she was much loved and cared for while she continued her practice of making many new friends. She was a singularly devoted and loving wife, mother, Gammaw, and the true heart of her family. Pat tenderly touched the lives of many loved ones and friends with her grace. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, by her loving husband, Bob, their son Steven Keith Carlton, and by her brothers, Thomas Lawrence Hubbard, Charles William Hubbard, Paul Garland Hubbard, Michael Lynn Hubbard, and sisters, Sandra Dorren Hubbard Smith, Mary Charlene Hubbard.
Pat is survived by sons Bobby Dean Carlton and wife Janette of Trophy Club, TX; Teddy Neal Carlton and wife Denise of Lees Summit, MO; daughters Patricia Jeanine Harper and husband Roy of Perryton, TX; Deborah Dawn Smith and husband Jerry of Artesia, NM; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bobby Allan Carlton, Brandon Kyle Harper, David Chayne Smith, Lance Avery Smith, Jacob Daniel Carlton, and Grant Allan Carlton.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lakeview Cristian Hospice Care or the Roswell Humane Society.
