PEPPER A. NEVAREZ

JUNE 22, 1950 --JANUARY 30, 2007

Pepper Nevarez, 56, of Roswell, NM went home to Our Lord on January 30, 2007. Although, Pepper lost her ten month battle with pancreatic cancer, she never let the word terminal defer her from her fight. She started her treatment with her head held high and never looked back. She was truly and inspiration to us all.

Pepper was born on June 22, 1950 in corpus Christi, TX to Vernon and Doris Green. She attended Mary Carroll High School, Texas Women's University and Brigham Young University. She married Roberto D. Nevarez, April 23, 1993 in Couer d' Alene Idaho.

Some of Pepper's hobbies included quilting, crocheting, and any craft that she could get her hands on. She loved spending time with all of her family especially her grandchildren. Pepper was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her. She had a wonderful sense for life. She was a loving, warm and gentle person, extremely generous and thoughtful, very creative, and had quick sense of humor. Pepper was the first woman to race at Bonneville Raceways in Utah. She raced pro-stock as 12. We were blessed with a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, Grammy and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Roberto D. Nevarez: her parents, Vernon L. and Doris A. Green of Yuma, AZ; her mother and father-in-law: Erma and Manuel Nevarez of Sparks, NV; four children: Heather Bruno and her husband George of Seattle, WA, David Peterson of Caldwell, ID, Greg Peterson of Caldwell, ID, Tori Herrera and her husband Tim of Roswell, NM; five grandchildren: Noah9, Christine 8, Karalyn 5, Seth 2, Isaiah 1; Daniel Green brother of Yuma, AZ; Noreen Hill sister-in-law of Sparks, NV; Yvonne Smith sister-in law of Sparks, NV; Liz Wolfe sister-in-law of Jerone, ID; and former spouse Kim D. Peterson and his wife Denese of Park City, UT and many dear freinds who cared for her deeply.

Pepper was preceded in death by her Uncle John and Aunt Inez, Uncle Bud and Aunt Vi, Aunt Stella and Uncle Wally, and her Gram.

Pepper especially wished to thank her doctors and care providers at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, the Roswell Cancer Treatment Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Roswell Vista Care for their compassion and excellent care.

A Memorial gathering will be held at her residence on February 3, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. untill 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to any charity in lieu of flowers.

We will miss you so much, Mom, Goodbye for now.

Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
