BLAIR, PERCY F. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, May 13, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church for Percy F. Blair, age 91, of Roswell, who passed May 10, 2011. Pastor Vern Edmonds will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard.
Percy was born September 4, 1919 to Percy and Mona Blair in Westville, Oklahoma, they have preceded him in death as well as brothers, Dr. W. Frank and Dr. A. Patrick Blair and sisters, Lonis and Dr. Jean Blair.
Percy married Emma Lee Morton on September 28, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She survives him at the family home.
He is also survived by a son: Scott Blair and his wife Pam of Carson City, Nevada and one grandchild.
Percy graduated from Oklahoma University with a bachelors in structural engineering in 1942. Percy was an engineer in the United States Army in WWII in Europe. He and his father were the first to pioneer the use of prestressed, precast concrete in the United States in the late 1940s and 1950s. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Percy was a lifetime member of the NRA, had an extensive gun collection, and fully supported the second amendment. Percy culminated his successful career as an engineer in Roswell working for the state and has enjoyed living in Roswell for the last 30 years.
