Petra Baeza

BAEZA, PETRA CORRALESA prayer service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2011 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel and a Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2915 S. Union for Petra Corrales Baeza, age 89 who passed away July 6, 2011. Pastor Hector Quionez and Pastor Ken Davis of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.


Petra Corrales Baeza was born in San Antonio Del Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico on December 3, 1921 to Canuta Chavez Corrales and Manuel Corrales. She married Jose Francisco Baeza on September 2, 1941 in El Paso, Texas and resided in Roswell, New Mexico for the last forty years. Together they had two children, Jose Antonio Baeza and Margarita Baeza Paz and raised two children, Rosa Guadalupe Baeza and Adalberto Baeza as their own.

She is preceded in death by her parents Canuta Chavez Corrales and Manuel Corrales, her husband Jose Francisco Baeza, her thirteen siblings, Chana Corrales, Arcadio Corrales, Jose Corrales, Lalo Corrales, Cuco Corrales, Andres Corrales, Manuel Corrales, Crecensia Seguin, Benito Corrales, Nacho Corrales, Marcela Tarango, Paula Corrales, Chana Gonzales, and her daughter Lupe Baeza.

She is survived by her son, Jose Antonio Baeza of El Paso, Texas, her daughter, Margarita Paz of Roswell, New Mexico, seventeen grandchildren residing in the States of Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Ohio. Adalberto Baeza, Sammy Baeza, Abel Baeza, Noe Baeza, Tony Baeza, Jake Chavez, Saul Paz, Robert Paz, Dora Paz, Margie Wireman, Mirna Lucero, Monica Gonzales, Lily Garza, Javier Garza, Mike Crump, Delilah Crump, and Tammy Sitchler, thirtytwo great grand children, and ten greatgreat grand children, and close family friend Luciano Ramirez.

Petra was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, was a devout Christian who adored her family and opened her heart and the doors of her home to all those around her.

At age eightynine, she passed away in her home on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. She will be missed by many.
