Ralph Burnworth

BURNWORTH, RALPH G. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at South Park Cemetery for Ralph Burnworth, age 88, of Roswell who passed away, on October 4, 2014. John Fuss of The First United Methodist Church will be officiating.

Ralph was born on October 23, 1925 in Roswell to Frank Burnworth and Anise Show. He married Annabel Walker in Roswell on September 25, 1945, she survives him at their family home. They celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary recently.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet Randeau Grandchildren Lee Randeau of Roswell, NM, Sherryl Smith and her husband Jason of Las Cruces, NM. Great grandchildren Meranda Randeau, Lynn Smith and Jacob Smith. Sister Faye Creagh of Waddell, AZ, Brother Wayne Burnworth and his wife Faye of Visalia, Ca, Robert Burnworth of Portales, NM and Dennis Mahaffey and his wife Betty of Roswell, NM Niece, Betty Broussard and her husband Roy of Roswell, NM and numerous nieces and nephews which he was very proud of.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Frank Burnworth and Anise Show, his brothers Dewey Burnworth of Albuquerque, NM, Dale Burnworth of Las Cruces, NM Sisters, Frieda Cook of Roswell, NM, Lu Coll of Albuquerque, NM.

Ralph was drafted out of Roswell High School for World War II and served in the Eleventh Armored Division of Pattons Third Army in the Tank Corp. and 341 Engineers Regiment in the European Theater of Operations. At the end of World War II while in route to the Pacific, he was rerouted and discharged from the Army at Fort Bliss, in El Paso, Texas. Ralph, his father and brotherinlaw owned BurnworthColl Heating, Air conditioning and Sheet Metal for over 50 years.

He was a lifetime member of The American Legion, but also worked in The Lions Club and The Rotary Club.
