Robert Morris, Sr.

Robert Winstel Morris, Sr., age 84, passed away Saturday June 25, 2016. A visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday June 29, 2016 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday at South Park Cemetery. Pastor Troy Grant of Berrendo Baptist Church will be officiating.

Robert was born May 16, 1932 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to John Young Morris and Alice Ella Morris. Robert served in the Korean War in the United States Army from December 1952 to May 1955. On December 26, 1955, he and Polly Ann Stockard were married. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 26, 2015. They had two sons, Robert Winstel Morris, Jr. and Randall Wilson Morris. Robert and Polly were also blessed with two grandsons, Robert Winstel Morris, III and Michael Ray Morris; they were so treasured by him. An added gift of three great-granddaughters were given, Madelyn Grace, Haley Nicole, and Gracie Morris; all loved by their grandpa. Robert worked for the telephone companies for 37 ½ years and always enjoyed his fellow workers. He retired on July 29, 1994. After retiring he took painting lessons and enjoyed painting wind mills as well as other subjects. Robert was a member of Berrendo Baptist Church. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and love.

Robert is preceded in death by four brothers, George, Andrew, J.P., and Brownie; three sisters, Ruth Gaston, Lois Cox, and Mozell Tigert.

He is survived by his wife Polly Ann Morris of the home, sons Robert W. Morris, Jr. and Randall Wilson Morris of Roswell; brother Bobby Jewel Morris of Lawton, OK, and his wife, Ester Marie Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
