RHOADS, BOBFuneral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Waymaker Church for Bob Rhoads, age 81 of Roswell who passed away on February 5, 2013. Pastor Mike Knowlton of Waymaker Church will be officiating..
Bob Rhoads was a man who had determined to do those things that he knew to be right, and stay away from the things that he knew to be wrong and let God take care of the rest of it. His personal faith in God was his ultimate guide for every area of his life.
Bob knew that a Christian marriage should be marked by love, respect, and harmony and he was a husband who loved and cherished his wife, Darlene. They were married for 55 years and their marriage was marked by the same traits of love, respect and harmony. Bob and Darlene had the type of love that others aspire to. It was hard to imagine one of them without the other so it wasnt surprising that they entered eternity within 3 weeks of each other. He is also preceded by his parents Harold and Rachel Rhoads and one brother, Carl Burke Rhoads.
Bob also understood that it was right as a godly father to lead by example. He trained his sons to follow after God with all of their hearts. He was loved and admired by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.
Bob recognized that it was right to do your work wholeheartedly as unto the Lord, and he set a wonderful example for his family to follow. Bobs work career spans nearly seven decades and included paperboy, grocery clerk, bookkeeper and business owner. In 1964, he established Rhoads Plumbing and Heating Co., which is recognized as one of New Mexicos premier mechanical contracting companies.
Bob Rhoads was a long time faithful member of Waymaker Church, the Roswell Rotary Club and a recipient of the Paul Harris Award. He was a member of numerous trade organizations and served on the Governors task force for the building industry.
Bob Rhoads was a faithful servant of God and will be greatly missed by his family, church family, friends and community.
