Roberta Loy

LOY, ROBERTA Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Westminster Presbyterian Church for Roberta F. Loy, age 80, of Roswell, who passed away June 9, 2008, at her residence. Rev. Harley Parnell, will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Roberta was born June 22, 1927 in Portales to Gabe and Anna Watts Foster. They both have preceded her in death.

Roberta married James Loy on June 8, 1946 in Portales, New Mexico, who has preceded her in death.

Survivors include: a son: Larry Loy and his wife Dixie from Roswell; a daughter: Barbara Burrell from Roswell; Sister: Wanda Turnbough of Texico, NM; sister-in-law: Maxine Henning and her husband Ralph, of Albuquerque grandchildren: Laura A. Henry and her husband Jerry of Sadler, TX, Kevin Loy and his wife Nicole of Amarillo, TX, and Kristin Loy of Denver, CO; great grandchildren: James, D. Henry, Timothy E. Henry, Cory Loy, Alexandra Loy and Fennon Sivley; nephews: Mitchell Turnbough of Albuquerque, NM, David Turnbough of Boise, ID; nieces: Sharlene D. Gabaldon of Albuquerque, NM and Janice L. Simon of Everett, WA; cousin and special friend: Dorothy Allen of Carlsbad, NM.

Roberta taught elementary school, the first and third grades for 30 years at Del Norte Elementary. She had a master degree in Elementary Education with the emphases on reading. She was a Mentor for the Student teachers. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Paul Haines, Shayne Sivley, Mitchell Turnbough, Mark Watts, Brett Lane, Matthew Turnbough, Robert Turnbough and Lee Williams. Honorary Pallbearers, James Henry, Cory Loy, Billy Prater, Lee Watts, Tim Henry, Fennon Sivley, David Turnbough and Wesley Watts.

Robertas family would like to thank Comfort Keepers, Agape, Vista Care and Dr. Reynaldo Martinez and staff for their loving care.
