Rodger Davis

DAVIS, RODGER D. -- Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 4, 2007 at Grace Community Church for Rodger Dale Davis, age 77, of Roswell who passed peacefully away at a local care center on April 30, 2007. Pastor Rick Hale of Grace Community Church will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Rodger was born June 15, 1929 in Spokane, Washington to Fred and Olive Mae Davis. Both parents preceded him in death as did his wife, Fara, his brother, Fred, his stepmother Buelah Davis, and stepbrothers, Joe Gruber and Morrie Gurber.

Rodger and Fara Davis were married on July 31, 1946 in Newport, Washington. Rodger owned and operated Best Auto Parts in Lynnwood, Washington until his retirement in 1994. His love was building racecars, both stock and modifiers. Later, he owned and showed Arabian horses. Rodger and Fara were charter members of North Creek Presbyterian Church in Mill Creek, Washington.

Rodger is survived by: stepbrother: Garry Gruber; daughters: Kathy Smith and Husband Steve of Roswell; Barbara Neukirch and husband Dave of Everett, Washington; Sally Jo Davis of Ramah, New Mexico; Judy Davis of Roswell. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Cheri Cisneros and husband Phil of Everett, Washington; Kenneth Smith and wife Krissy of Roswell; Barbara Smith-Duer and husband David of Roswell; Stephanie Gross of Roswell, and eight great grandchildren: Skylar, Makenzie, Kannen, Alazay, Shanel, Matt, Andrew and Ava. Rodger will be missed by all his family and friends.

In 1996, Rodger and Fara settled in Roswell after a year of traveling in their motor home. They were faithful members of Grace Community Church in Roswell.

Pallbearers will be Javier Garcia, Marc Reischman, Ken Smith, David Duer, Tim Parker and Rubie Rubenstein.
