Rodney Wayne Price was born on August 17, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Douglas and Mary Bills Price.
Rod was raised in Roswell, he graduated from Roswell High in 1971 where he was involved in sports, playing football and basketball. He attended Western New Mexico University on a football scholarship.
Rod met Sue Box in 1972 and they married in 1974. Rod began working for his father-in-law at Box Crane, operating cranes and learning the business from the ground up becoming president of the company after his father-in-law, Jack O. Box, retired.
His greatest love was watching his sons, grandsons', and granddaughters' play sports. Rod and Sue spent countless hours traveling from coast to coast to watch and support their kids and grandkids. During this time, he developed countless relationships with teammates and their families over the years.
Rod is survived by his wife Sue and their three sons, Chris and wife Angie of Roswell, Ryan and wife Cynthia of Roswell, Cory and wife Tiffany of Las Cruces. Brothers Roger Price and Mary Tanner of California, Jim & Bonnie Price of Texas. Sister-in-law Kim and her husband Derrick of Roswell. Grandchildren Haley and her husband Austin Hensley, Drew Price, and Aubry Price. Makaylyn Price and Cole Petersen, Aaliyah Hunter, Reed Price and Rhett Price. Ava Price and Kenzi Price. One great grandson Noah Petersen. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Mary Price, Brother Rusty Price and one great granddaughter Rosalyn Petersen.
