Ronald Whitley

WHITLEY, RONALD RON T.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M.., Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Ronald Ron T. Whitley, age 67, of Roswell, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2008 after a long hard and brave battle with cancer.

Ron was born February 18, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Needham Jefferson and Ethel Marie Whitley, they have preceded him in death as well as his twin brother, Donald Whitley, and brother N.J. Whitley.

Ron is survived by his wife Peggy Whitley of 29 years. They were married in Roswell on June 13, 1979.

Other survivor include sons: David Whitley and his wife Veronica of Midland, Texas, William Whitley of Las Cruces, NM, Robert Wells and his wife Sonya of Mesa, AZ, and Brian Wells of Phoenix, AZ; daughters: Aletha Ann Whitley of Roswell and Donna and her mother Bessie Whitley of Silver City, NM; brothers: Herman Whitley and his wife Brenda of Notus, Idaho, Charles Whitley and his wife Edna of Silver City, NM, and James Whitley and his wife Julie of Platteville, CO; sisters: Madeline Ison and her husband Jerry of St. Joseph, MO and Lynn Johnston of Giddings, TX; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Ron is also survived by some very dear friends, Robert Bob Pay and his wife Theresa, David Foster and his wife Connie, brother and sister in law Leonard and Karole Walla of Ora Grande NM, Jerry and Jan Miller of Forney, TX and Jon and Judi Christensen of Harlingen , TX

Ron worked as an Iron worker, General Forman and Area Superintendent for Sterns Rogers Inc. and Site Manger for Peabody Process Systems. He also worked as a truck driver for Dearing, Recycling and J J Trucking Co. He worked many years in the oil fields as a Driller and Tool Pusher for Dual Drilling and Patriot Drilling of Midland, Texas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Bob Pay, David Foster, Mike Maynor, Grandson, Jereme Whitley, and Leonard Walla
