Ronney was born in Roswell on January 13, 1960 to Lorine and James Wilson. He graduated from Goddard High School in 1978. Ronney loved to play football, basketball and high jumped while in school. He even held the high jump record at Berrendo Middle School for many years. He loved the game of football, although nobody ever wanted to play against him because they didn't want to be tackled by him. On November 7th, 1981, Ronney married Marcie Hughes. 2 ½ months later, their life was turned upside down when Ronney was injured while working in the oil fields. At the young age of 22, Ronney had to learn how to live the rest of his life from a wheelchair. However, he did not let being in a chair stop him from living that life - he loved to go hunting, fishing, and camping. He did taxidermy for many years and enjoyed raising game roosters. Ronney loved having a garden and made homemade salsa. You never knew what kind of critter you would find when you went to visit Ronney. He raised all kinds of God's creatures, from goats and sheep to macaw parrots. He always enjoyed watching re-runs of old westerns like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Little House on the Prairie, and he looked forward to watching the Little League World Series every year. He also loved listening to music, especially classic rock and roll and old country music. Many great memories were made going to concerts with his family and friends. He had true grit, and no quit - he was an inspiration for humanity.
Ronney is survived by his wife Marcie Wilson and their son Sawyer Wilson, as well as one sister, Linda Weldon, and multiple nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother James E Wilson, and sister Ruby Beeman.
