Rosemary Gant - Obituary
On July 30, 1944, Rosa Maria Badillo was born to Manuel G. Sr. and Bertha C. Badillo. Rosemary passed away March 26, 2008 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her father preceded her in death in June 1998, while her mother survives her in Roswell.
Raised in Ruidoso, New Mexico, Rosemary met Jerry Gant while on military leave. After being discharged from military services, Jerry made his way to Dallas, Texas where he and Rosemary were married on March 19, 1966. The couple then moved to Roswell in 1967, where they made their home, gave birth and raised their two daughters. Rosemary was a full-time homemaker in the 1970s and went to work outside the home for various physicians as a medical secretary and then as a medical assistant in the 1980s and 90s until she retired. In June 2000 she and Jerry moved to Deming, New Mexico, where Jerry preceded her in death in 2001.
Rosemary was always known for her creative style and natural gift for interior decorating. She loved remodeling each and every home she and Jerry purchased. Rosemary also had a passion for buying and refinishing antique furniture.
Survived by her two daughters: Julie Michele, and her husband Sean C. Davis of Las Cruces; Nicole Lee, and her husband Kevin R. Loy of Amarillo, Texas; two cherished grandchildren: Cory Ray and Alexandra Hailee of Amarillo, Texas.
Rosemarys brother: Mannie Badillo Jr. and his wife, Angelina of Los Angeles, California.
Two nephews: Jerald Hunter, his wife Jeni and their son Orion of Phoenix Arizona; Howard Hunter, his wife Shilpa and their son, Neel also of Phoenix, Arizona; Brother-in-law, Tom Van Sickle of Sedona Arizona.
Rosemarys beloved sister, best friend and antiquing partner, Georgina Hunter of Sedona, Arizona preceded her in death on February 23, 2008.
Rosemarys last days were filled with serenity, tranquility and love as her two daughters and family members were by her side.
Memorial graveside services are scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at South Park Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Gant family home in Roswell, following the Memorial Service.
Honorary pallbearers are Skip Bicknell, Dickie Davis, and Judge Larry Loy.
Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
