McDonald, Rosemary - A rosary service will be held Thursday at 11:45 a.m., February 8, 2008 at Assumption Catholic Church followed by a funeral mass at 12:210 p.m. for Rosemary Teresa McDonald, age 91, of Roswell, who passed away Feb. 2, 2008 at a local care center. BRBR Rosemary was a resident of Roswell for 55 years and a member of Assumption Catholic Church for over 40 years. Rosemary worked at Cobean Stationary Company, the New Mexico Transportation Company, the ENMU-R Registrar's Office, Ad Lib Signs, and cared for residents at Via Del Rey. She was a fastidious bookkeeper and had impeccable clerical skills. She was the oldest of ten children. She lived her life helping others and loving her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Her sacrifices and diligence in bettering others' lives were inspirational. She proudly served in the Third Order of Saint Francis organization through her church. Rosemary's Irish eyes were always smiling. Her last few years were quite difficult, and her very special granddaughter, Christy McDonald of Roswell, cared for her more than can be expressed in words. BR Rosemary was born Oct. 6, 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Mary Briqueleur who preceded her in death. She was a first generation baby as her mother emigrated from Ireland. She was also preceded in death by a son, Raymond McDonald. She is survived by three sons: Noel McDonald of San Antonio, TX; Dennis McDonald and his wife Sharon of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jerry McDonald of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a daughter, Mary Kay Youngs and her husband Doug of Lubbock, Texas; one brother, Robert Briqueleur and his wife Jan of St. Louis, Missouri and one sister, June Orleans and her husband Louie of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by grandchildren that meant the world to her: Christy McDonald, of Roswell; Shawn McDonald of San Antonio, Texas; Sgt. Robert McDonald currently stationed in Alaska; Joel McDonald of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Martin Youngs of Houston, Texas; Noel Youngs of College Station, Texas; and Shannon Paige and Gerrianne McDonald and Tracy Bailey of Chester, Virginia; and great grandchildren: twins Sarah and Emily McDonald and their sister Hannah McDonald of San Antonio, Texas; as well as Christinana, Shannon, and Joleana McDonald of Colorado Springs, Colorado. BR A very special thank you goes to the caring staff of Sunset Villa, also to Hospice for making her comfortable, and Kelly Ramey for help and caring.
