Ruby Deeter

DEETER, RUBY LOUISE-  Ruby Louise (Huddleston) Deeter, age 83, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 surrounded by family and friends at Mission Arch Center in Roswell, NM.

Ruby was born September 5, 1936 in Dexter, NM and spent most of her life in Roswell, NM.

Ruby married Kenneth Deeter Sr. and raised a family together until his death in March of 1980. In addition to raising her own children, Ruby also enjoyed caring for the children of numerous families, baby sitting and loving them from infancy to near adulthood.

With her beautiful smile and sweet gentle disposition, she was loved by all who knew her.

Ruby was preceded in death by 2 sons, Ricky Brown and Larry Deeter; brothers, Jack, Roby, Check, Odis, Odell, and Henry; her only sister, Gladys (Gabby) Summers; also preceding Ruby in death, were nieces, Elaine (Lainey) Shackleford and Sissy.

Left to cherish Ruby’s memory is niece, best friend and partner in crime, Barbara Wheeler. Ruby is survived by son, Kenny and wife, Lee; 3 daughters, Malynda Brady, Robin and husband, Rick Clark, and Jodi Deeter; 6 grandchildren, Nadine, Adriana, Sarah Timothy, DJ and Josh. Ruby also leaves behind 7 great grandchildren Semaj, Bubba, Naiza, Matthew, Colby, Lillie and Ryleigh.

The family would like to extend much gratitude to Judy and her exceptional crew, the Sunshine unit at Mission Arch Center- a very special group of people.

Visitation for Ruby will be held 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 12, 2020 at South Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Matt Muehlbrad, Mathew Muehlbrad,   Colby Muehlbrad, Brian Cobb, Paul Huddleston, and Timothy Clark.
