Ruby Sims

SIMS, RUBY M. -- Services are scheduled for 9:00 AM, Thursday, July 5, 2007, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Ruby M. Sims, age 89 of Roswell, who passed away July 1, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Pastor Danny Sons of Midway Assembly of God Church will conduct the service. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Ruby was born December 29, 1917 in Church Point, Louisiana, to Joseph L. and Donnie B. Yelding Franques. Both parents preceded her in death, as well as a grandson.

She married Sherman F. Sims on June 11, 1934 in Bell County, Texas. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include 3 sons; Charles Sims and his wife Barbara of Roswell, Leonard Sims and his wife Glynda of Plano, TX, Donnie Sims and his wife Diana of Reno, NV, and 1 daughter; Derell Johnson and her husband Billy of Copperas Cove, Texas. Also surviving is a brother, Melvin Franques of Jennings, LA, and nine grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Ruby had been a Roswell resident since 1939, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
