BLOME, JOSEPH BERNARDWent peacefully to be with his Lord on April 21, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.

Rudy was born on June 12, 1916 in Belleville, Illinois, to Joseph Bernard Blome and Caicilia Katherine Lindenberger Blome, who predeceased him.

He married Jessie N. Brown on June 8, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December of 1989, after 53 years of a warm, loving, and laugh-filled marriage. Rudy worked in sales most of his life and owned his own grocery store, the Bluebird Supermarket, before going to work for Allen Foods. The family mobbed to Roswell, New Mexico, in 1956, so that Rudy could open the New Mexico and West Texas territory for the company. After retiring from Allen Foods, Rudy worked as a salesman for DeNio ChryslerPlymouth, Automatic Business systems, and AAVCO Home Center in Roswell, finally retiring in 1999 at the age of 83. In 1997, he and Margarette Camper were happily married at the ages of 80 and 81. She preceded him in death in December, 2005.

Rudy served his country in the US Army during World War II and was specially trained in Intelligence and Reconnaissance. He was a member of First Untied Methodist Church in Roswell since 1956, where he sang in the choir, served on various committees, and ushered for many years. He was a member and Past master of Hondo Lodge 74, member and Past member of Valley Daylight Lodge 70, member and Honorary Past Member of Roswell Lodge 18 AF AM and served as Assistant Grand Lecturer of the Grand Lodge of New Mexico. He was also a member of all York bodies, Ballut Abyad Shrine and the Order of the Red Cross of Constantine. He received the Grand Cross of Color of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls for his work with that organization. Rudy received Cryptic man of the Year Award for Grand Council of Select Masters in 198 and served as treasurer on the founding board of Lend-a-Hand for many years.

In addition to his parents and wives, Rudy was preceded in death by a grandson, Greg Knoch; son-in-law, Hal Armstrong; brothers Anthony Blome and Guido Blome; and sisters Cleo Davenport, Rita Pratt, Marcella Blome and Lucretia Blome.
PHe is survived by his sons Gordon Blome and wife Linda of Lubbock, Texas and Gary Blome and wife Beth of Lockhart, Texas; his daughters Judy Armstrong of Roswell and Janet Richardson and husband Jim of Roswell step sons Rod Caper and wife Kathleen of Houston, Texas and David Camper of Roswell; step-daughters Roni Hall and husband Ray of Roswell and Tamara Sullins and husband Roger of Roswell; brothers Vincent Blome of Lake Elsinore, California and Cyril Blome of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren Geoffrey Blome and wife Kerry of Holden, Massachusetts, Rachel Tutor and husband Jeff of Roswell, Crystal Knock of Dallas, Texas, Todd Cozart of San Antonio, Texas, Betsy Raxter and husband Joe of Lockhart, Texas, Mim Knoch-Cammack of Brazoria, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; countless friends and his faithful protector, guardian and companion Sherlock
