Ruth Spencer

SPENCER, RUTH B.- - A memorial service is scheduled for a later date for Ruth B. Spencer, age 81, of Roswell who passed away October 14, 2009.

The youngest of five children, Ruth was born to Sam and Elba Raby July 7, 1928 and grew up in Roswell. Throughout her adult life Ruth lived in places as far away as Japan and as close as Santa Fe but in her heart Roswell was always home.

To remember Ruth is to remember her smile, her laughter, and her sense of self. Alzheimers took away many parts of her life over the past four years but she maintained her social graces and always felt it important to look her best. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Mission Arch for making mom family and letting her live each day with dignity. For that we are most grateful.

Ruth is survived by a son: Fred Starks of Evansville, Ill Daughter: Amy Rigney and her husband Jim of Pittsboro, NC; four grandchildren: Chris Rigney of Ossining, NY, Eric Rigney of Nashville, TN, Miranda Starks of Evansville, Ill and Kyle Starks of Evansville, Ill; and a great grandson: Nathaniel Rigney of Ossining, NY.
