Sudie Emerson

EMERSON, SUDIE WINONA - Sudie Winona Emerson was born May 6, 1922 in Elmer, Oklahoma and passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the age of 96.
Visitation for Winona will be from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Interment following at South Park Cemetery.
Winona was the 5th child born to Miles Helmstetler and Hettie Higginbotham Helmstetler. She grew up with her seven siblings on the plains east of Roswell. She recalled the hardships that came with the depression but spoke of a happy childhood with three brothers, four sisters and a devoted mother.
Winona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey Emerson; three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one sister, Lucille Howell; two children and their spouse, Gale and Joy Emerson and Oleta Lois and Stewart Taylor; six grandchildren, Rodney and Darla Emerson, Sherry and Kevin Sykes and Mark and Shalei Emerson; seven great grandchildren, Preston Sykes, Jennifer Sykes, Kendra and Michael Wilson, Peyton Emerson, Keaton Emerson, Kaylei Emerson and one great great grandson, Emmett Sykes.
She was a home maker and one of God's devoted servant. She never met a stranger and her home was always open to everyone.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Sykes, Preston Sykes, Rodney Emerson, Mark Emerson, Michael Corn, and John Corn.
