JONES, SYBIL MARIE WILLINGHAM Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at South Park Cemetery for Sybil Marie Willingham Jones, age 95, of Roswell who passed from this world to heaven to join her Lord and husband and children on December 24, 2009. Pastor Troy Grant of Berrendo Baptist Church will officiate.brbrSybil was born on July 3, 1914 to Robert Houston and Margaret Laird Willingham, in Waurika, Oklahoma. She lived in Oklahoma for 21 years before moving to Roswell. br.brSybil met her husband, Lehman Edgar Jones, when she was very young. They were married on July 5, 1930 and were married for over 60 years. In August of that year, Sybil joined the Baptist Church and was baptized in the small village of Midlothian, Oklahoma. On June 9, 1932 their first child, Ronald Houston, was born. Due to the depression, they sold their livestock, farm equipment, and furniture and moved to New Mexico, where Sybils parents lived at the time. On March 19, 1935 another son, Aldon Gale, was born. He passed away on June 28, 1937 at the age of two.brbrIn recent years, Sybil joined Berrendo Baptist Church which she loved attending. She was a member of a special Sunday School class called the oldsters. She especially enjoyed being the oldest mother on Mothers Day for her last several years at the church. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16.brbrSybil was preceded in death by her husband Lehman, her sons Ronald and Aldon, and eight of her nine sisters and brothers. She is survived by one brother, Quentin Willingham; four grandchildren: Ronald Jr. and wife Coral, Nancy Isaacs and husband Jay, Brenda Kirk and husband Jim, and Brian and his wife Becky; ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.brbrFriends may pay their respects online at www.lagronefuneralchapels.com.brbrArrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.br
