TAYLOR, THELMA L. A reunion took place April 9, 2009 with the passing of Thelma Loraine Taylor, age 93, who went to be with her Lord and Savior. A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church. Pastor Melvin Suttle and Rev. Paul Hutsell of First Assembly of God will officiate, with Interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Thelma Loraine Taylor was born in Kiowa, Oklahoma on August 24, 1915 to Martin Luther and Parilee Mylinda Watts Holland. She married Paul Henry Taylor on October 13, 1930. He passed away November 13, 1981. She then married V.R. LaRue on July 14, 1987. He passed away in 1993.
Thelma had two children, Paul Taylor, Jr. and his wife Sherlea who survive her and Pauline Taylor Holstun who preceded her in death on June 26, 2006.
A special THANKS to Flo Riley, her caregiver, who took such good care of our Mom and Grandma.
At the age of 8, Thelma and her family traveled by covered wagon from Oklahoma to New Mexico. She received her high school diploma the same year as her oldest grandson, Paul Holstun in 1971.
She was devoted to her family and her church. She was the office manager for Clem Plumbing and Conner Plumbing for several years. She also owned her own dress shop.
Thelma is also survived by her son in law, Courtney Holstun, Jr., and brother in law and sister in law, Robert and Rafalita Taylor, Grandchildren: Paul and Connie Holstun, Bill Holstun, Homer and Paula Hinson, Paul and Terri Taylor, Jim and Susan McClure and Todd Taylor, Great grandchildren; Malcolm Holstun, Mike Holstun and Falon Holstun, Paige Taylor and Great Great grandchildren: Aramis Holstun, Jethro Holstun, and Tyler Holstun. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; Martin and Parilee Holland, Brothers; Floyd Holland, Luther Holland, R.L. Holland, M.L. Holland, Johnny Lee Holland, Sisters; Mamie Peyton, Mary Greenhaw and Ethel Conner.
Pallbearers will be, Paul Holstun, Bill Holstun, Paul Taylor, III, Todd Taylor, Mike Holstun and Sonny Holland.
