Thomas Berckes

After a year and a half, Thomas Christian Berckes lost his battle with cancer, Thursday, August 10, 2017. A memorial services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2801 W. 4th, Roswell, NM on Saturday, August 19th at 1:00pm.

Tom was born March 28, 1973 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Bill and Connie Berckes. In 1983 the family moved to Lancaster, Ca, where Tom graduated from Antelope valley High School and California Lutheran University. He worked for Advent Ministries in Gilroy, CA, High Desert Counseling, Ridgecrest, CA. In 1998 he moved to Cloudcroft and worked at Camp Chimney Spring and the Cloudcroft schools. In 2000 the family moved to Roswell. Tom held many part time jobs before getting a fulltime job with Rowell transit system. Tom enjoyed music and magic. He was an active member of the church choir and chimes, and played with the Roswell Community band.

Tom is preceded in death by his mother Connie, his grandparents Ted and Jane Berckes. He is survived by father Bill of Roswell, brother James and his wife Kimberly, nieces Erika, Cassandra and nephew Cameron, of Lancaster, Ca. sister Dottie Berckes, nephews Lee, Lane and niece Brendalynn, of Alamogordo, NM, uncle Ken Berckes and his wife Kathy of Bakersfield, CA, uncle Jonathon Wood and his wife Jane, aunt Susan Payne and husband Richard, and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Memorial fund or any cancer research organization.
