GRAVES, THOMAS HOWARDServices are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Memory Lawn Memorial Park for Thomas Howard Graves, age 99 of Roswell who passed away March 9, 2013. Harold Hobson will officiate.
Thomas Howard Graves was born November 23, 1913 in Louisville, TX to T.O and Bessie Graves. He was the eldest of 3 brothers, Hugh and Earl preceded him in death.
The family migrated to a homestead southwest of Kenna, NM in 1915 where they lived the pioneer life until moving to Roswell during his teenage years.
He met and married Charlie B Brown, the love of his life in 1932. She preceded him in death in January of 2002. They purchased and lived on the Graves Family Farm in East Grand Plains from 1936.
His loves in life included family, farming, and huntingfishing. His farming experience ranged from tilling the soil with teams of horses and mules to the most high tech farm machinery. He went on many magnificent hunts including Africa and Alaska and made several wonderful trips including a world tour with Charlie B
He leaves behind a daughter Tommy Darlene Graves Johnson of Katie, TX and a son, Howard Lynn Graves of Roswell, NM.
Grandchildren: Raylene Barton of Katie, TX, Lori Williams of Waxahachie, TX, Nola Bea Franzoy of Las Cruces, NM
Great grandchildren: Ryan Barton of Richmond, TX, Stacey Jones, of Lake Jackson, TX, Michael Williams, Oklahoma City, Ok, Karen West of Irving, TX, and Holly Franzoy, and Amanda Franzoy of Las Cruces
3 great great grandchildren: Rebecca Barton and Nathan Barton of Richmond, TX and Allison Jones of Lake Jackson, TX
Also numerous nieces, nephews, great neices. great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews and a multitude of good friends
He lived a full and hard working life and will be dearly missed by all
