BROOKS, TWYLLA TK A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, for Twylla Brooks, age 53, of Roswell, New Mexico, who passed away March 27, 2009 at her home, following a battle with a heart condition. Pastor Rick Hale of Grace Community Church will officiate. While she will be cremated after the memorial service pursuant to her wishes, she will have a marker in her honor at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Roswell, near her beloved Eudy grandparents and other relatives.

TK was born February 9, 1956 in Houston, Texas to Guy H. Brooks and Paula F. Eudy. Her father preceded her in death.

TK is survived at the family home by her partner, Melodie Marnell, as well as by Paul Marnell, Melodie Kay Jackson and Nathaniel Jackson. She is also survived in Roswell by her mother, Paula Chester; her sister and brother-in-law, Terina and Donnie Wimberly; her sister, Peggy Jackson; brother, Scott Brooks and his family of ODonnell, TX; foster children, Chris Marnell, Daniel Downs, and DJ DeBary and Tina DeBary of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Monte Clements; niece, Annette Poynter; nephew, Randy Clements; two great nieces and four great nephews; numerous cousins of the Eudy, Haynie, and Hicks families, and other relatives; and by numerous friends.

TK was a 1974 graduate of Goddard High School, attending college for a while at ENMU-R. She worked for many years as a saleswoman for Herring Distributing, followed by 14 years as the Marketing Director for The Melodie Corporation a Burger King Franchise. She then became a newspaper carrier for the Roswell Daily Record as well as a merchandiser in various Roswell stores until she became too ill last fall to work outside of the home. She was of the Methodist faith, called herself a humanitarian, and loved helping people, often going out of her way to reach out to those in need, both physically and spiritually, whether she knew them or not. She was full of life, even when she was in pain, with a big voice and a sense of wisdom and humor that she loved to share with others. She loved and was loved deeply, and will be missed beyond words
