Lucille was born to Homer and Mary Shore on January 13, 1917 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. She was the 3rd of 4 children. She married the love of her life, Leon Gill, and lived in Oklahoma, Georgia then Roswell, New Mexico while he was in the service. Lucille is known best for her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She has been a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Roswell for over 60 years and taught Sunday school for a good number of those years. Lucile took every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone who would listen. One thing Lucille always desired but never received was children. Though God never gave her children of her own she quickly adopted the family of Jason Perry as her own when they came to Roswell almost a decade ago. She soon considered Jason and his wife Deena her own children. As much as she loved them she loved their children even more. Their children Jacob, Gideon, Joel, Elijah, Susie, Jonah, and Josiah were her grandchildren and she loved them each without measure. When Lucille got to the point where she could no longer live alone she moved into the Perry's home where she spent her last days playing and singing with the children until the Lord took her home.
Lucille is survived by her nieces Martha Eubanks and Betty Edwards of Lubbock, Texas as well as their extended families. Also surviving Lucille are her adopted family Jason and Deena Perry and their children, special lifelong friend Betty Lou Cleaver, and beloved caregivers Kathy and Gene Christie, Jay Shelton, and Pauline Ramirez.
Pallbearers will be Gene Christie, Gideon Perry, Joel Perry, Elijah Perry, CW Hamilton, and Bobby Graves.
