DUTCHOVER, VICTORIA GOMEZ A Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 15, 2011, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, for Victoria Gomez Dutchover, age 89 of Dexter, who passed away September 12, 2011 at her home. The Resurrection Mass will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2011, at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Hagerman, with Father Bryan of Artesia conducting the service. Burial will follow at Hagerman Cemetery.
Victoria was born December 22, 1921 in Otis, New Mexico to Simon and Julia Mendoza Gomez. Both parents have preceded her in death, also 3 sons Tommy Dutchover, David Dutchover, Louis Dutchover and 4 sisters, 3 brothers.
Survivors include 1 son Richard Dutchover and 5 daughters Mary Garcia, Viola Dutchover, Dorothy Gandarilla, Carolyn Montez and Helen Perez. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 36 greatgrandchildren and 5 greatgreat grandchildren.
Victoria had worked for the State of New Mexico as a Social worker, for 21 years. She was of the Catholic Faith.
She was very active in civic affairs, and was past president of the VFW. She enjoyed working and helping people and had been employed at Woolsworth making flower arrangements. She started the H.E.L.P. program and the Community Action program in Hagerman where she taught sewing, canning, baking and delivered boxes and baskets to the needy. She also cooked for the Lake Arthur School Headstart. She was secretarytreasurer at the Cumberland Water CoOp. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Garcia, Richard L. Dutchover, James Dutchover, Anthony Montez, Nathen Montez and Daniel Gandarilla.
