Viola Rodriguez

RODRIGUEZ, VIOLA A.- Viola A. Rodriguez, age 60 passed away peacefully in her home in Midway, Saturday, June 20, 2020. Viola married the love of her life Simon Rodriguez on April 21, 1990.

Viola was home maker by profession. She loved working with her hands including sewing, cooking and making jewelry. She always made sure her husband had plenty to eat by making him breakfast, lunch, and dinner and on occasions would share her special meals with her husband’s co-workers. The thing she loved the most was making a home for herself and her husband Simon. She and Simon shared their home with their dog, Chulo. They enjoyed being home and spending time together, just them three.

Viola was preceded in death by her father Elias D. Aguilar formerly of El Paso, TX. Her memory will be cherished by her husband Simon Rodriguez of Midway, NM and their family dog Chulo; her mother Consuelo C. Aguilar of El Paso, TX; her sister Senia A. Wallace (Donald) of Lafayette, IN; her brother Elias C. Aguilar Jr. (Emolene) of Roswell, NM; her brother Javier C. Aguilar of El Paso, TX and her brother Jamie C. Aguilar, nicknamed her “chiquito de limon” (Cynthia) of El Paso, TX. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Armando and Raymond Rodriguez both of Midway, NM and sister-in-law, Maribel Rodriguez of Roswell, NM. Additionally, she is survived by numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

Visitation for Viola will be held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday, June 29, 2020 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at St. Peters Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, also at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Charlie Martinez, OFM officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers are AJ Montez, Donald Wallace, Jacob Rodriguez, Elias C. Aguilar Jr., Elias Aguilar III, and Carmen Rodriguez.
