Virginia Lankford

LANKFORD, VIRGINIAVirginia died peacefully in her home on August 22, 2011. She was surrounded by her family and pets, and is now in the company of her Lord and Jesus Christ.

Virginia was born February 5, 1936 in Wellington, Kansas to Anna and Jess Eckel. She attended and graduated from Midway High School near Joy, TX. She then attended North Texas State University in Denton, TX. She and Jim Lankford were married January 25, 1956. He survives her at their family home in Roswell. Virginia is survived also by her children, James E. Jay Lankford II and Sherryl Lynn Stovall, four grandsons, Jarett and Jerami Stovall, Brad and Grant Lankford, sister, Carolyn Ginn and brother Jess Eckel.

Ginger worked side by side with her husband Jim not only at the dental office, but raising their children and grandchildren. Gingers entire life evolved around her family. She was the football mom and horse show mom which evolved into football Gran and horse show rodeo Gran for grandkids, nieces and nephews. She would also tell you her family included those she worked with at the dental office and all the patients she cared for through the dental office.

Pallbearers will be James E. Lankford II, Brad Lankford, Grant Lankford, Jarett Stovall, Jerami Stovall and Jess Eckel. Honorary Pallbearers are Martha Mayer, Sue Naylor, Charlette Daniels, Vicki Bailey, Vicki Crisp, Cheri Snyder, Gaye Hirst, Ronald Mayer, Tim Jennings, Bert Eldridge, Benar Treat, and Ray Willis

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at New Mexico Military Institute Chapel for Virginia Lankford. Rev. Edward Sena of Emanuel Community Baptist Church, Lubbock, TX and Senator Tim Jennings will officiate. Interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be given In Honor of Virginia to a charity of your choice.
