Virginia Smith-Poss

A graveside memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 21,2015 at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM for Virginia Morrisett Smith-Poss, age 81, who passed away on October 3, 2015 and her son, Kemp Bannister Smith, age 52, who passed away on September 19, 2015.
Virginia was born in Marked Tree, AR on September 18, 1934 to Janie Blain Morrisett and Odell "Pete" Morrisett. She grew up in Marked Tree, AR. Virginia attended Texas Women's University in Denton, TX where she met and married Don Clayton Smith of Krum, TX. In 1960, the Smith family moved to Roswell, NM, from that moment on it became Virginia's home for the rest of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Roswell. Virginia was also a successful realtor, working with the Century 21 Home Planning and Better Homes and Garden realty offices.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; Don Clayton Smith, Floyd Dorsey Poss and her son, Kemp Bannister Smith.
Virginia is survived by her son, Ray "Buddy" W. Smith of Edgewood, NM; many cousins from both Morrisett and Blain families including: Sara Provost of Montgomery, AL, Terri Clayton of Marked Tree, AR, Carolyn Herring of Jonesboro, AR, Allan Morrisett of Marked Tree AR, James Cannon of Owens Crossroads, AL, Joan Cannon of Memphis, TN, Linette Brown of Weiner, AR, Ginny Sue McSpadden of Mountain View, AR, Janet Clark of Grubbs, AR, Melissa Vater of Alpharetta, GA, and Barbara Veronese of Montgomery, AL, and numerous friends.
