Waldo Johnson

JOHNSON, WALDO E.A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, March 11, 2007 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Waldo E. Johnson, age 87, of Roswell, who passed away March 8, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. The Resurrection Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 12, 2007 at St. Peters Catholic Church, with Fr. Benedict Begin, OFM of St. Peters Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery with military rights being conducted by Cannon Air Force Base.

Waldo was born May 2, 1919 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Ed and Linda Johnson who have preceded him in death.

Waldo married Eleanor Wodnick in September 1947 in Roseville, Minnesota. She survives him at the family home.

Survivors are a sister: Shirley Sawyer of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews.

Waldo retired from the United States Air Force in 1965. He served in the World War 2 and the Korean Conflict. Waldo was a life time member of the Disabled American Veterans, Life member of the Retired Officers Association, BPO Elks 969, American Association of Retired Persons, Chaves Country Historical Society and St. Peters Catholic church.
