W.E. "Buster" Morrow, age 84, of Roswell passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017. Visitation 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 3, 2017 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2915 S. Union Ave, Roswell. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Pastor Ken Davis will be officiating.
The Morrow family settled near Cloudcroft, NM. It was there that they erected a saw mill, as well as dryland bean farming and ranching when they were in Claunch, NM. In 1944 the Morrow family moved to Roswell, NM, it was there that Buster attended Eastside Elementary School and finished his education in parochial schools. He proudly served his country when he enlisted in the United States Army in 1955 at Fort Belvoir, VA. Buster loved to sing, including country music and gospel; he loved to travel, electronics, planting "he was a farmer at heart". Buster was a lay pastor for many years and an ordained elder. He is also a member of the Roswell Elks Lodge No. 969.
He is preceded in death by his parents; spouse Gloria of 54 years; daughter Tamara Michelle; stepson "Dee" Darryl Morrow.
He is survived by his wife Donna Williams Morrow of the family home in Roswell, NM; son Christopher Morrow of Albuquerque, NM; stepson Artie Morrow and his wife Julie of Roswell, NM; daughter-in-law Brenda Morrow of Roswell, NM; sister Helen Williams of Ruidoso, NM; as well as several grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Don O'Connor, Tom Jordan, Joseph Acheampong, Bruce Ryberg, Steve Henry, Tom Leighton, Daniel Ramirez, and Billy Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Morrow, Josh Morrow, David Gaumond, Wayne Gaumond, Darrell Williams, Desmond Williams, Johnny Firestone, Dusty Johnson, Derrick Bates, Lee Hill, Lowell Hughes, Buster's Co-workers, Friends from the Highway Department, and his caring neighbors.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Buster's favorite charity, the Best Friends organization, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, PO Box 567 Kanab, UT 84741-0567, or to a charity of your choice.
