William "Luke" Lukander , age 77, or Roswell passed awasy on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.
He was born October 6, 1938 in the Bronx borough of New York City, New York to Edward Ludander, Sr. and Ida Sysma Lukander, They both preceded him in death as well as a sister Lillian Grise. Bill made his appearance known, at a very young age music became a passion and continued throughout his life. He graduated from San Pedro High School in San Pedro, California and shortly after he joined the U.S. Navy. After his Navy tour he studied Air Conditioning and Heating graduating from Johnson Wales College. He made a career out of this knowledge, but always included his music as his life-long interest. LVJ Studio was his Nashville project and assisted many artists with their "demo tapes."
He and his wife Valerie of 35 years, vacationed in Roswell and decided that it would be their new home. Twenty years later it is still home. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor, he always had a good joke to share to brighten the day. He retired from Fulkerson's Services Inc. and had also worked for Nesselrodt Heating and Air Conditioning, and C. Reading Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning of Roswell.
Bill is survived by his wife Valerie of the home, his two sons, William Lukander, Jr. and Steven Lukander of Florida, three daughters, Christen Lukander of Florida, Sherry Deluca and Danita Thistlewaite both of Rhode Island,19 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters Ruth DeForge of California, Jeannie Casali of New Mexico and Shirley Gauthier of Connecticut and one brother Skip Lukander of Ohio.
