RICCIARDI, WILLIAM GUIDO BILLA Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 10:00 A.M., August 27, 2008 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for William Guido Bill Ricciardi, age 89, of Roswell, who went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 21, 2008 at Roswell Regional Hospital. The Mass will be held directly after the Rosary at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, with Deacon Jesus Herrera of Immaculate Conception Parish officiating.
Bill was born May 6, 1919 in Brooklyn New York, to Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Ricciardi. They both have preceded him in death as well as stepdad, Artie Gorman, mother in-law, Betty Walker, son, Kenneth Whitworth and granddaughter, Bettie Lou Whitworth.
Bill married Velma Walker on May 8, 1976 in Roswell. She survives him at the family home.
Bill is also survived by sons: Bill Ricciardi and his wife Nancy of CA and Wesley Whitworth and his wife Modesta of Weed, CA; daughters: Valeria Peacock of MD, Lisa Ricciardi of VA, Barbara Cullins and her husband Jerry of Roswell, Angline Carroll and her husband Roy of GA and inlaw Ada Whitworth of Anderson, CA; grandchildren: Nina Ricciardi, Jake Cullins and his wife Caroline, Vanessa Luiz and her husband Joe, Austin Carroll, Stacey Carroll, Falon Robinson and her husband Beau, Cheyenne Carroll, Connie Weber and her husband Ken, Debbra Bainbridge and her husband Sean and Becky Whitworth; Fifteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, also his beloved pet Sabrina.
Bill went into the Navy in June of 1936 and got out October 30, 1945. He was Motor Machinist Mate Second Class. He served his Country in WWII. He worked for the Voice of American for many years in Washington D.C. He was a life time member of D.A.V., V.F.W., Purple Heart and Commander of American Legion Post 61.
Bill was a very loving and compassionate man. He was a giving man and loved to help everyone, he never met a stranger. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Pallbearers will be Billy Ricciardi, Jerry Cullins, Wes Whitworth, Joe Luiz, Jacob Cullins, Michael Gallagher, Chad Gallagher and Dominic Batista Jr.
We would like to thank his caregivers Mary Caberera and Angela Chacon. We would also like to thank the Roswell Regional ICU staff.
