Willie Newcomb

NEWCOMB, WILLIE V.Willie Velma Newcomb of Roswell, the one true love of Richard L. Dick Newcomb, her husband of 71 years, passed away on February 18, 2008, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of James and Willie V. Huffman Fowler.

She is survived by sons Richard W. Newcomb and his wife Carol of The Villages, FL, and John H. Newcomb and his wife Colleen of St. George, ME; son-in-law Dr. Lucien Burke of Lake Oswego, OR and many loving, beautiful and talented grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Belle Novak of Scottsdale, AZ. Willie looked forward to joining her daughter Mary Jo Burke who preceded her in death. She will be missed.

Mrs. Newcomb was a teacher and also a housewife. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, The Eastern Star, Beauceant, and the D.A.R.
