Winifred Mayes

MAYES, WINIFRED VICKIE Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at South Park Cemetery for Winifred Vickie Mayes, age 77, of Roswell who went to be with the Lord and her husband, William Mel Mayes of 56 years on April 10, 2013. Pastor Jerry Beaver of Tabernacle Baptist Church will officiate.
Vickie was born February 19, 1936 in New Castle, Texas to Clyde and Billie Adell McCarty. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as two brothers, Walter McCarty, and Clyde McCarty, three sisters, Jo Ann Jolly, Nelda Jean Day, and Mary Catherine McCalf.
Vickie is survived by three sons: Michael Mayes and his wife Bonnie, Gary Mayes and his wife Christine and Dennis Mayes all of Roswell daughter: Sharon Woods of Ft. Worth, Texas one sister: Charlotte Howard of Missouri eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.
Vickie was a stay home wife and mother who loved to cook. She loved her kids, grandkids and her dogs. Vickie was a longtime Roswell resident, she was Coowner of Mayes Electric.
She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jeremi Woods, Jason Woods, Joshua Mayes, Sean Mayes, Kelly Reed, Adam Mayes, William Mayes and Mason Mayes.
