PETERSON, W.M. PETE A rosary is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church with a Mass of Resurrection at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church for W.M. Pete Peterson, age 84 of Roswell who went to be with the Lord peacefully on May 8, 2013 surrounded by his children. Fr. Joseph Pacquing will officiate the Mass of the Resurrection.
Pete was born September 17, 1928 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Arthur Herman Peterson and Gladys Irene Malmrose. They have preceded him in death as well as wives Kay Peterson and Svanhild Peterson, sister, Arlen Patzloff, and his brother Paul J. Peterson.
He married Vallie Kennedy on August 6, 1977 in Dallas, Texas. She has also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Mark Eckerle of Scottsdale, AZ, Dana Burger, of Scottsdale, AZ, Cara Grieve of Justin Texas, Andra Eckerle of Arlington, TX, and nine grandchildren
Pete and Val moved to Roswell, New Mexico with the family and enjoyed many years together supporting the community church, and many children charities. Pete loved to play golf, spending time with his children and many grandchildren, and shared amazing stories of his journey with friends and family.
Pete graduated from Ceresco High School in Ceresco, Nebraska. He served in the Army in 1946 and 1947 and was a Chaplain Assistant. He attended Luther Academy in Wahoo, Nebraska. He also attended the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Pete went on to have a very successful career in sales working for Packaging Corporation of American in Dallas, Texas. He was a VP of marketing for Christmas by Krebs in Roswell, NM
He will be mostly remember for his contagious smile, his unique since of humor, his love for his friends and family and his love and devotion to our Lord. He will be dearly missed by all of those hearts he touched along the way.
